[ARCHIVED] CONSUMERS ENERGY TO CLOSE EB 14 MILE RD., JUST EAST OF I-75, STARTING MONDAY, OCT. 17

Consumers Energy plans to close eastbound 14 Mile Road, just east of I-75 from Concord Street to John R Road, on the border of Madison Heights and Troy from Oct. 17 through Nov. 28 for gas main relocation work.  

            During the work, westbound 14 Mile Road will remain open to traffic. The detour for eastbound 14 Mile Road is Stephenson Highway to 12 Mile Road to John R Road, back to 14 Mile Road.  

            Business access within the eastbound 14 Mile Road closure will be available by taking John R Road to Mandoline Avenue. Additionally, the eastbound 14 Mile Road crossover to Elliott Street (Oakland Mall), north of 14 Mile Road, will remain accessible during the work.     

            Eastbound 14 Mile Road carries approximately 24,400 vehicles daily. The work is being done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC).
