The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is expected to begin a culvert replacement project on Pontiac Trail over Davis Creek located one mile north of 11 Mile Road in Lyon Township (north of the South Lyon border) on Monday, October 3. The section of Pontiac Trail just south of Shady Creek Drive will close to through traffic until early November.
The detour for the closure is 11 Mile Road to Milford Road back to Pontiac Trail and vice versa.
The $482,000 project is funded by RCOC.
The project includes:
• Removal and replacement existing culvert
• Head-wall and wing-wall construction
• Guardrail installation
• Hot-mix asphalt paving
The contractor for the project is Dan’s Excavating of Shelby Township. This section of Pontiac Trail carries approximately 12,700 vehicles daily.
