Consumers Energy plans to close the Long Lake Road/Middlebelt Road intersection in West Bloomfield Township for gas line repair work on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The closure is being done under a permit issued by the Road Commission for Oakland (RCOC) and is expected to reopen approximately Sept. 18. The intersection closure was originally expected to last for two weeks; however, after evaluating the issue, Consumers now expects the closure to last approximately one week.
The Middlebelt Road traffic detour is Lone Pine Road to Orchard Lake Road, back to Middlebelt Road and vice versa.
The Long Lake Road traffic detour is Orchard Lake Road to Lone Pine Road to Telegraph Road, back to Long Lake Road and vice versa.
The Long Lake Road/Middlebelt Road intersection carries approximately 30,000 vehicles daily.
