The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in partnership with Commerce Township, hosted a public meeting on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, for the planned 2024 replacement of culverts on Farr Street, Broadway Street to Elkin Street in the township. The meeting was held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Commerce Elementary School, 520 Farr Street, Commerce Township.
RCOC is requesting public input to recognize and address concerns about the temporary use of Mill Race Park during this project, which includes slope grading and alignment of the sidewalks on the northeast corner of the intersection. RCOC is proposing a "temporary non-conforming use" of Friendship Park as regulated under Section (4)f of the United States Department of Transportation Act of 1966. Please submit comments by Friday, October 20, 2023.
Comments and concerns may be submitted via email to the RCOC Design Division at email@example.com, by phone at 877-858-4804 or during the October 3, 2023 public meeting.
The approximately $1.25 million project is paid for with State Local Bridge Funds, the RCOC and Commerce Township.

Placing curbs and gutters in the are of the culvert.
