Greenfield/Normandy/ Beverly Roundabout

PUBLIC MEETING:

In partnership with the City of Royal Oak and the Village of Beverly Hills, the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) hosted a public information meeting for the planned 2023 construction of a "compact" one-lane roundabout at the intersection of Greenfield Road, Beverly Road and Normandy Road.

Project Information:

The approximate $1.7 million project is funded by the City of Royal Oak, Village of Beverly Hills and the RCOC.

The project includes:

  • Construction of a "compact" one-lane roundabout at the Greenfield/Normandy/Beverly roads intersection.
  • Reconstruction of .19 miles of Greenfield and Normandy roads.
  • Placement of new curbs and gutters in the vicinity of the interseciton.
  • Minor drainage improvements.
  • Construction of new concrete sidewalks along portions of Greenfield and Normand roads.

Contractor/Timeframe/Road Closure/Detours:

CONTRACTOR: To Be Announced (TBA)

Start date:  April 2023 (TBA)

End date: Fall 2023 (TBA)

Intersection closure: Yes. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained during the work.

Detours:

  • Greenfield Road detour is 13 Mile Road to Woodward Avenue (M-1) to 14 Mile Road, back to Greenfield Road and vice versa.
  • Westbound Normandy Road detour is Normandy Road to Woodward Avenue (M-1) to 14 Mile Road to Southfield Road to Beverly Road.
  • Eastbound Beverly Road detour is Beverly Road to Pierce Street to either 14 Mile Road to Woodward Avenue (M-1) to Normandy Road.
