MEETING INFORMATION:  No formal presentation.  R.C.O.C. staff will be available to review and discuss plans with participants

REQUIREMENTS:  Since the meeting is being held at public school, participants must wear a mask per school policy.

PROJECT DETAILS:

The approximate $2.39 million project includes:

  • Conversion of the three-way Elizabeth Lake Road/Teggerdine Road intersection, now controlled by stop signs, to a single-lane roundabout.  
  • Conversion of the three-way Elizabeth Lake Road/Oxbow Lake Road intersection, now controlled by stop signs, to a compact roundabout.
  • Repaving of both roads in the vicinity of the roundabouts with asphalt.
  • Installation of curbs and gutters, sidewalks, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant pedestrian crosswalks and street lighting at the roundabouts.
  • Improvements to storm sewers and drainage.
  • Milling and paving Elizabeth Lake Road between the roundabouts with the addition of four-foot road shoulders.  
  • Utility relocation, expected to start in the winter of 2022.

PROJECT START:  March 13 

PROJECT COMPLETION:  Early September

ROAD CLOSURE: Yes. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained throughout the construction. 

  • STAGE ONE: Starting March 13, the Elizabeth Lake Road/Teggerdine Road intersection will close for roundabout construction through approximately mid-June.  
  • STAGE TWO: The Elizabeth Lake Road and Oxbow Lake Road intersection is expected to close approximately mid-June (after the completion of the school year) through early September for roundabout construction.  

DETOUR:  Elizabeth Lake Road to Williams Lake Road to Pontiac Lake Road to Highland Road (M-59) to Bogie Lake Road to Cooley Lake Road to Oxbow Lake Road and vice versa.
