FUNDING: The $2.61 million project is funded by federal dollars, the Road Commission for Oakland County and West Bloomfield Township and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).
PROJECT DETAILS:
The 1.13 mile project includes:
Removal of existing pavement and replacing with asphalt.
Extension of the Pontiac Trail center, left-turn lane from Green Lake Road to Parkridge Drive.
Extension of the Green Lake Road southbound right-turn lane onto Pontiac Trail.
Replacement of some curbs and gutters.
Upgraded Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) crosswalks and ramps.
Improved merging of the right lane of eastbound Pontiac Trail just east of Haggerty Road.
ROAD CLOSURE: Yes, access to businesses and homes within the construction will be maintained. Additionally, there will be a 28-day closure of the Pontiac Trail/Green Lake Road intersection (dates and details will be announced).
DETOURS:
Pontiac Trail through traffic detour: Haggerty Road to Maple Road to Drake Road to Walnut Lake Road to Halsted Road, back to Pontiac Trail and vice versa.
Green Lake Road/Pontiac Trail intersection closure detour: Green Lake Road to Richardson Road to Haggerty Road to Maple Road to Drake Road to Walnut Lake Road to Halsted Road to Pontiac Trail and vice versa. (intersection closure is expected to start late June for approximately one month; dates will be announced)
