If you cannot be everywhere at once, you've got to set priorities. That is what the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) does during winter weather events.
Because safety is the number one priority for RCOC, when snow storms hit, we're out there plowing and salting to ensure the roads remain as ice-free as possible. But doing that during a major snow storm can be a real challenge.
RCOC reminds everyone to not plow or shovel snow back into the travel lanes on roads throughout Oakland County. This action is illegal under state law and could cause a major hazard for motorists.
