BARRON RD CONSTRUCTION FROM GRANGE HALL TO GROVELAND RD STARTS MAR. 22; FULL CLOSURE STARTS APRIL 12

Detourahead

The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) expects work to begin on Barron Road from Grange Hall Road to Groveland Road in Groveland Township on March 22.

The road will close to traffic April 12 through approximately Nov. 5 for gravel road paving.

During the closure, access to homes and businesses along this section of Barron Road will be maintained. The detour for through traffic will be Groveland Road to Jossman Road to Grange Hall Road, back to Barron Road and vice versa.

The approximately $5.5 million project is mostly federally funded, with the remaining portion shared by RCOC, Groveland Township and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party program).

            The 2.39-mile project includes:

  • Paving the gravel road with asphalt
  • Placing concrete curbs and gutters
  • Installing storm sewers to improve road drainage
  • Improving the sight distance for vehicles using the road

The contractor for the project is Iafrate Construction of Warren. Barron Road carries approximately 500 vehicles daily.
