The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), in partnership with the City of Farmington Hills, will replace sections of bad concrete on 12 Mile Road between Haggerty Road and Farmington Road beginning Aug. 14.
12 Mile Road will remain open but will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The southern portion of the 12 Mile/Drake intersection will be closed to traffic for approximately 19 days beginning approximately Sept. 15. The detour route for the closure of the southern portion of the 12/Mile/Drake Road intersection will be 11 Mile Rd to Halsted Road to 12 Mile Road and vice versa. Local traffic and access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.
The project will cost approximately $2.6 million. $2.1 million is federally funded, and the remainder is a local match shared by RCOC, Farmington Hills and Oakland County general government (through the Tri-Party Program).
The contractor for this project is Florence Cement Company of Shelby Township. The project is expected to be completed by mid-November.
