The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close South Blvd. between Coolidge Hwy. and Adams Road in the communities of Troy and Rochester Hills for Borden Drain culvert replacement beginning July 16. The culvert is on South Blvd. just west of Coolidge Hwy. Once the culvert replacement is complete approximately early August, the eastbound lanes of South Blvd. from Adams to Coolidge Road will remain closed for reconstruction for the duration of the project. Westbound South Blvd. will remain open to traffic. The detour for the culvert replacement and eastbound traffic closures is South Blvd. to Squirrel Road to Square Lake Road to Crooks Road, back to South Blvd and vice versa. Residential and business access will be maintained throughout the project.South Blvd carries approximately 10,360 vehicles daily. The contractor for the project is Pro-line Asphalt of Washington Twp. The South Blvd. work is expected to conclude approximately mid-September. South Blvd west of Coolidge will remain closed to traffic until early August for culvert replacement. It was supposed to open to westbound traffic on 7/20; however, the opening has been delayed due to complications with removing the culvert.
