The Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will close Inkster Road just north of 14 Mile Road on the Bloomfield Township and West Bloomfield Township border to through traffic beginning Tuesday, July 17. The full closure is necessary for the contractor, CI Contracting of Brighton, to repair a deteriorated roadside bank on the east side of Inkster Road just north of 14 Mile Road. Northbound Inkster Road has been closed since June 15. The detour during the closure is 14 Mile Road to Middelbelt Road to Maple Road, back to Inkster Road and vice versa. The road is expected to reopen for southbound traffic only on Friday, July 20. Northbound Inkster Road will remain closed until late July for pavement and curb repair work.
Inkster Road north of 14 Mile will completely close to traffic on July 17 for roadside repairs. Southbound Inkster will reopen on July 20; however, northbound Inkster will remain closed until late July for pavement and curb repairs.
